FAQs

  • We encourage you to move at your own pace. A session begins with a quick rinse, enjoy 10–15 minutes in the sauna, rinse again, take a refreshing cold plunge for a couple of minutes (or whatever you’re feeling that day), and then relax with some water or tea. This cycle is repeated a few times. We’re here if you need us, but your session is yours to shape.

  • Our community sessions are two hours long and include time to check in, change, use the space, and check out. You're welcome to rotate through sauna, cold plunge, and rest as much as you'd like within your session.

  • We currently require reservations so we have time to heat the sauna and prepare for your visit as our community grows. In the future, as things get busier, we may be welcome walk-ins.

  • We recommend bringing a water bottle, a swimsuit (required), and two towels—one for sitting in the sauna and one for drying off afterward. Flip flops are handy for walking on the gravel area, though you’re always welcome to go barefoot. A comfortable change of clothes is nice so you can leave feeling refreshed.

  • We are located in a residential neighborhood in Milwaukie. It’s a bit like coming over to hang out in our backyard! We simply ask that you help maintain the calm, peaceful atmosphere of Koti and be mindful of our neighbors by keeping voices low and soaking in the natural sounds around you.

You might hear dogs barking, kids playing, or neighbors enjoying their spaces nearby. That’s part of the beauty of being in a neighborhood. If you’re looking for total silence, Koti may not be the right fit, and a quiet indoor sauna might serve you better.

  • Yes, swimsuits are required.

  • Yes. Koti is an all gender shared space. That means you may share the space with other guests during your session. Swimsuits are required and we expect everyone to show up with respect for themselves and others.

  • Our outdoor Finnish cedar sauna is between 185°F and 195°F. The cold plunges are maintained between 40°F to 50°F. At Koti, we invite you to pay less attention to the numbers and more on how your body feels each day.

  • Come well hydrated and be sure to drink plenty of water during your session. Outside food and alcohol are not allowed. We offer complimentary coffee (during the morning sessions only) and tea all day long for you to enjoy. We also have electrolyte LMNT packets, coconut water, and sparkling water available for purchase.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your session to receive a full refund. Because heating the sauna takes time and resources, we’re unable to offer refunds for no-shows or missed sessions.

  • Yes, we offer two membership options: an unlimited plan and a once-a-week plan. We also have session packages, which are a great way to enjoy discounted visits in bulk. Both memberships and packages are a great way to make sauna a regular part of your weekly routine.
