FAQs
-
Do I need a reservation?
Yes, we currently require reservations to allow time to heat the sauna and prepare for your visit as we build our community. This may change in the future to welcome walk-ins.
-
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing a water bottle, a swimsuit (required), and two towels—one to sit on in the sauna and one to dry off after. Flip flops are great for walking around the gravel paths, and a comfortable change of clothes can help you leave feeling refreshed.
-
What does a typical session look like?
At Koti, you move at your own pace. A common routine is to start with a quick rinse, spend 10 to 15 minutes in the sauna, rinse again, take a cold plunge (even just a quick dip is great), and then rest with water or tea. This cycle can be repeated a few times. We’re here if you need us, but your session is yours to shape. Listen to your body and enjoy the experience.
-
How does it work in a neighborhood setting?
It’s a bit like coming over to hang out in our backyard! We simply ask that you help maintain the calm, peaceful atmosphere of Koti and be mindful of our neighbors by keeping voices low and soaking in the natural sounds around you.
You might hear dogs barking, kids playing, or neighbors moving about nearby. That’s part of the beauty of a shared outdoor space. If you’re looking for total silence, Koti may not be the right fit, and a quiet indoor spa might serve you better.
-
Can I come if I’ve never done sauna or cold plunge before?
Absolutely! We welcome beginners and will provide guidance to help you feel comfortable on your first visit.
-
Is it a co-ed/shared space?
Yes. Koti is an all gender shared space. That means you may share the space with other guests during your session. Swimsuits are required and we require everyone to show up with respect for themselves and others.
-
How hot is the sauna? How cold are the plunges?
Our outdoor Finnish cedar sauna is between 185°F and 195°F. The cold plunges are maintained between 40°F to 50°F. At Koti, we invite you to pay less attention to the numbers and more on how your body feels each day.
-
Is there a time limit?
Each session is two hours long and includes time to check in, change, use the space, and check out. You're welcome to rotate through sauna, cold plunge, and rest as much as you'd like within your session.
-
Can I eat or drink alcohol during my session?
Come well hydrated and be sure to drink plenty of water during your session. Outside food and alcohol are not allowed. We offer complimentary tea for you to enjoy, and will soon have electrolyte LMNT packets and coconut water available for purchase.
-
What’s your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your session for a full refund. We do not offer refunds for late arrivals or no-shows.
-
Do you offer memberships or packages?
Yes, we offer session packages at a discounted rate and are excited to be launching memberships in July. Packages are a great way to make sauna a regular part of your weekly routine.
-
Can I book a private rental?
Yes! If you’re interested in a private rental, just reach out by calling or texting 971-325-9276 or emailing hello@kotisauna.com. We’re with any questions about availability, capacity, or pricing.
